Memory Care Kits contain books and activities for people with memory loss and their care partners. Three different versions of the Memory Care Kit are available from the library, each containing different items. Memory Care Kit Volume 2 includes “The Caregiver’s Guide to Dementia : Practical Advice for Caring for Yourself and Your Loved One” by Gail Weatherill; “Blue Sky, White Clouds : A Book For Memory-Challenged Adults” by Eliezer Sobel; “1950s Memory Lane” by Hugh Morrison; “A Visit to the Farm” by Jamie Stonebridge; the picture books “A Gathering of Green” by Emma Rose Sparrow and “The Spendor of Mother & Child Animals”; a 35-piece jigsaw puzzle of birds; and a music CD with songs about birds. Song lyrics and a bird discussion guide are also included. For the care partner, there is a notebook with book suggestions, care tips, and resource listings.
A library volunteer can deliver this item. Homebound services are available for people with physical limitations due to age, illness, accident, or disability that keep them from visiting the library in person. The Homebound team works with library volunteers to deliver and pick-up library materials, including books, audiobook CDs, and DVDs, items from our Gadgets and Things collection, and more.
